Heymann-Löwenstein's 'Schieferterrassen' wines come from their Erste Lage (1er Cru) vineyards. While most of these are naturally planted to Riesling, there are some small parcels of Pinot Noir which make this - one of the Mosel's finest reds.

Since 1980, Reinhard Löwenstein has made some of the Mosel’s most precise, vibrant wines. His 15 hectares of steep sites with their varied soil types are all farmed biodynamically, and the wines are fermented to as close to dry as possible. Thanks to an obsession with growing the finest fruit he can across the many plots, the Rieslings are intense and deeply complex, while the Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) is floral, elegant, and supple.
