Shrine To The Vine

Selosse, Agrapart, Prevost, Egly-Ouriet... when Tommy Grimshaw and his old mate Ali Fraquelli talk about the wines that inspire them, they reel off a list of the kings of Grower Champagne. Yarn is the ambitious English wine project from Tommy (head winemaker at Langham in Dorset) and Ali (assistant winemaker at Jim Barry Wines in South Australia), that applies the approach of a top quality Grower Champagne to English wine, with no compromises.

A Yarn release is limited to 1,000 bottles, with the fruit coming from a single grower, selected each year according to the vintage. As with the finest Grower Champagnes, winemaking is oxidative and low-intervention, with wild yeast fermentations, oak ageing, and no fining or filtration...
