Tronquoy-Lalande Saint-Estèphe 2014

Historically, Tronquoy-Lalande has a reputation for producing structured and rather unyielding wines that needed many years to soften. However, new owner Martin Bouyges has balanced the wine’s inherent high quality with earlier drinkability as well as ageworthiness, and has positioned this as one of Saint-Estèphe’s most under-rated estates. Damsons, violets, iodine – pretty hard to resist now, but has the stuffing to go for another decade. Bravo. 92+ Points, Vinous
