The Seysses family are relative newcomers in the scheme of Burgundy's long history, but Domaine Dujac reached world-class status faster than anyone could have imagined. In 1967, Jacques Seysses — the son of a wealthy biscuit manufacturer — bought Domaine Graillet in Morey-Saint-Denis and built a portfolio reaching into Echézeaux, Bonnes Mares and Clos de la Roche: an unfathomable task today, even with deep pockets. His own benchmark was a magnum of 1938 DRC La Tâche — "it was exactly what I wanted to create."
Today, Jacques’ sons Alec and Jeremy tend vines across 15.5ha (all biodynamically farmed since 2009) with Jeremy’s wife Diana taking charge in the cellar. Dujac’s style has always been one of elegance and poise, its wines seducing drinkers with soaring perfumes and silken viscosity.
