In 1988 Clos Rougeard, the iconic dons of Loire Cabernet Franc, introduced a new wine as an experiment. 'Le Bourg' comes from a single hectare of very old vines beside the family house in the centre of the village. Skip forward to today, and this relatively recent addition has become Cabernet Franc's holy grail. In a good year, 4,000 bottles might be made, to be fought over by connoisseurs. For this tasting, Josh Castle, our head buyer, has assembled an exceptional vertical of every vintage from 2005 to 2012. This is your chance to drink the Loire Valley's greatest and most mythologised red in all its glory.
