Since 2011, husband-and-wife team Tomoko Kuriyama and Guillaume Bott have been making waves with energetic, crystal-clear Burgundies bottled under their micro-négoce label, Maison Chanterêves. We are thrilled to now offer the couple’s hugely anticipated domaine wines made from vineyards recently taken under their care.
Tomoko and Guillaume met in the cellars of Domaine Simon Bize et Fils where the latter worked as cellarmaster. Oenology graduates of Geisenheim and Beaune respectively, they use biodynamic farming and minimal interventionist techniques in their own winery to craft transparent, racy whites and intensely aromatic and juicy reds.
In 2018, the pair took full control of several old-vine Aligoté plots, which they have supplemented with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sites, mostly in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune as well as other exciting peripheral appellations. While these bottles are a) available and b) relatively affordable, fans of featherweight and ethereal Burgundy should run, not walk.
Pinot Noir from a west-facing, forest-adjacent vineyard. Made with 100% whole bunches and spending 24 months in old oak and stainless steel, this combines elegant red berries with savoury, meaty nuances. Perfumed and primary.
