Clos du Jaugueyron Margaux 'Nout' 2018

- Inventory on the way
After leasing vineyards for a number of years, Michel and Stéphanie Théron finally got the opportunity to purchase 2ha of abandoned land in Margaux - overlooked due to its location next to the cool and humid Landes forest. Clos du Jaugueyron is composed of 16 parcels around Macau and Arsac and a rudimentary winery - as far as Bordeaux standards go - next to their house in the middle of the forest.
Advocates of cement tanks, light extraction, and minimal manipulation, these are pioneers who have inspired and fostered a new generation of vignerons, such as Closeries des Moussis, Osamu Uchida and Vincent Quirac.
From 25-year-old vines planted in a gravel-clay soil, 'Nout' is aged half in new oak and half in young barrels for a year. Open-knit and fragrant, it suggests pure red fruit and a saline mineral streak on the finish.
