Château de Fargues Sauternes 2006

Despite the grandeur of the property and its associations with the Lur-Saluces family of Château d’Yquem, Château de Fargues remains a hidden gem in Sauternes. Yields are tiny (lower even than Yquem) and grapes are harvested in as many as 12 tries. Rounded on the entry with orange zest and marmalade notes, this delivers herbal freshness and sweetness in perfect harmony.
