Vittoria - at Sicily's south-eastern tip - is a world away from Etna's slopes and the media spotlight. This hot, rugged terrain is known for Marsala and bulk wine made from international blends. But then there's young, fiercely anti-establishment winemaker Arianna Occhipinti, determined to prove that there's more. A blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato, this combines the dark, plummy, savoury notes of the former with the latter's lightness of touch. A fresh, chill-able red.
