Thiriet Côtes de Nuits 'Aux Montagnes' 2022

Camille Thiriet has established herself as one of the most exciting and authentic young winemakers in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits.
Camille’s farms impeccable fruit from her old vineyards around Comblanchien in the Côte de Nuits-Villages AOC and sources grapes from a network of trusted organic farmers in Vézelay (near Chablis), Volnay, and even the Jura.
With the assistance of her partner Matt Chittick (winemaker at Domaine de Villaine), Camille vinifies each of her tiny parcels separately in a micro-winery behind the Château de Comblanchien, which her parents modestly operate as a B&B.
Thiriet’s stylish Bourgogne Chardonnay ‘Cuvée Confidentielle’ and sensual Côte de Nuits-Villages ‘Aux Montagnes’ are the domaine’s impressive flagships, punching well above their humble appellations. The first time we tasted them their silken texture, gorgeous whole-bunch fruit, and refined minerality had us convinced they were 1er Crus.
The love and care with which Thiriet imbues these wines is impressive – and is felt no less in a beautifully open and charming vintage like 2022. “I didn’t realise what a challenge creating my own domaine would be – if I had, maybe I wouldn’t have done it!” Thank god she did.
