Ghislaine Barthod made her domaine a star of Chambolle-Musigny. Now her son, Clément Barthod-Boillot, is pushing it even further, running trials with biodynamics and higher trellising in the vineyard, as well as larger oak and amphorae in the cellar. The eleven different Premier Crus get most of the press, but the village Chambolle-Musigny and the Bourgogne Rouge, made with equal care, offer that ethereal Chambolle Pinot Noir perfume at a fraction of the price.
