Carignan Côtes de Bordeaux 2019

The newly-created Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation – on the region’s eastern edge – offers dense, Merlot-based wines at typically excellent prices. The 600-year-old Château Carignan is no exception. Proprietor since 2007, Andy Lench continues to push the quality here, as illustrated by his richly textured and ageworthy estate wine (a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc).
