Charles Heidsieck Brut Millésime 2005

Growing up in the vineyards of Champagne, young Charles would go on to work for his uncle's house, Piper-Heidsieck before founding his own eponymous domaine in 1851. Famous for introducing Champagne to the US market, his effervescent personality and widespread fame would give him the nickname 'Champagne Charlie'.
A blend of 60 vineyards, the house's flagship wine is full-bodied and densely woven with yellow plum, roasted nuts, saffron, and baking spices. Creamy, long, and richly oxidative in style, this illustrates why Heidsieck is at the top of the Grandes Marques pack. 95 points, Wine Enthusiast
