Vittoria - at Sicily's south-eastern tip - is a world away from Etna's slopes and the media spotlight. This hot, rugged terrain is known for Marsala and bulk wine made from international blends. But then there's young, fiercely anti-establishment winemaker Arianna Occhipinti, determined to prove that there's more. Made from Albanella and Muscat, this is aromatic - with blossom, ripe citrus and mineral salt - and textural. A touch of skin maceration provides a bit of grip.
