Théo Dancer is a leader among Burgundy’s new generation of top winemakers, producing critically-acclaimed, sought-after wines under three different labels. He has taken the reins at Domaine Vincent Dancer, his father’s famously perfectionist Chassagne-Montrachet estate, and is applying the same quality standards to his two other projects. ‘Roc Breïa’ is an ambitious new enterprise making beautifully pure and transparent wines from Mâconnais fruit, while his ‘Théo Dancer’ label is a micro-négoce project working with rarer grape varieties, bought in from trusted organic growers.
This Aligoté comes from a small plot of organic old vines in Meursault. It is made by Théo at Domaine Vincent Dancer in Chassagne in the same way as the Chardonnays - fermented with wild yeasts and aged on its lees in large, old oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it is a remarkably complex wine with beautiful balance, depth and energy.
