Beaujolais’ transformation into one of the world’s most dynamic regions has inspired a legion of young winemakers. After tasting the wines of low-intervention pioneers Jean Foillard and Yvon Métras, Philippe Viet left behind his Paris corporate IT job to make joyful and utterly delicious Cru Beaujolais. Following a stint working with Eric Janin at Domaine Paul Janin in Moulin-à-Vent, Philippe established his own domaine in Villié-Morgon in 2019, with 5ha of 50-year-old vines across lieu-dits in Régnié, Fleurie, and Morgon. Through organic farming, gentle extraction, and minimal sulphur, Viet crafts high-class Gamays with a sensual fragrance and juicy fruit character.
