Luke Lambert is carving out a name as a master of cool climate winemaking in Australia’s Yarra Valley, just north-east of Melbourne. Luke’s ‘Denton’ vineyard is high in altitude and exposed to strong winds, bringing a cool fruit character alongside mineral tension and fresh acidity to the wines. Fermented with wild yeasts and aged for 9 months in an old barrel, his Chardonnay is poised, yet detailed – ripe citrus fruit and white flowers are robed in chalky extract.
