Le Crock Saint-Estèphe 2000

A short stroll from both Montrose and Cos d’Estournel, Château Le Crock lies at the tip of a hook-shaped area of Médoc marshland cutting into Saint-Estèphe. Owned by the Cuvelier family since 1903 and in the same stable as Léoville-Poyferré, Le Crock now consistently ranks among the top tier of Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

An opulent, textbook Saint-Estèphe, the 2000’s dark raspberry fruit melds with spicy cedar, dried petals, and chocolate, alongside beautifully integrated tannins. For a complex and supremely satisfying sub-£50 bottle at almost a quarter of a century old, this would be hard to beat.
