Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin 2021

Pierre Duroché – the fifth generation of his winemaking family – took over his father’s domaine in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin in 2005 after studying in Beaune. From 8ha of meticulously-farmed organic vineyards, which include enviable parcels across four Grand Cru and four 1er Cru sites, Pierre and his wife Marianne craft hauntingly pure and polished Pinot Noirs that have propelled them to Gevrey-Chambertin’s front rank.

Frost and hail resulted in exceptionally low yields for Duroché in 2021, so the village Gevrey-Chambertin this year includes fruit from old vines across 'Le Clos', 'Champ', 'En Vosne', and 1er Cru 'Champeaux'. Sweet, floral-edged fruit is endowed with a satiny texture – absolute A-class Gevrey.
