Philippe Viet Beaujolais 'Lantignié' 2023

Inspired by the wines of low-intervention pioneers Jean Foillard and Yvon Métras, Philippe Viet left behind his corporate IT job in Paris to make joyful and utterly delicious Cru Beaujolais.
After apprenticing with Eric Janin in Moulin-à-Vent, Philippe established his own domaine in Villié-Morgon in 2019, where he farms 5ha of 50-year-old vines across lieu-dits in Régnié, Fleurie, and Morgon, and sources organic fruit for his micro-négoce from the other Beaujolais Crus, as well as Mâconnais.
Worked without chemicals from day one, the domaine’s own vineyards are also farmed organically (and solely) by Philippe. Made using whole-bunch fermentation, gentle extraction, and minimal sulphur, Viet crafts high-class Gamays with a sensual fragrance and juicy fruit character.
Despite being a recent addition to the Bojo landscape, Philippe’s wines quickly caught the attention of critics William Kelley and Neal Martin, who has billed the domaine “a name to look out for”. Delivering that rare combination of immediacy and ageing potential, these wines are perfectly suited to both the table and the cellar.
Delicate red fruit and crunchy tannins – ideal charcuterie fodder.
