Aphros Loureiro 2023

Aphros straddles the line between traditional and modern: hand harvesting, foot stomping, and natural winemaking are the name of the game at this relatively young producer making wines in the Lima sub-region. This is Vinho Verde at its most serious and complex: a slight creaminess on the palate is balanced by bracing, mouthwatering acidity and precise flavours of lemon and lime. The etymology of the variety Loureiro (meaning laurel) hints at the strong note of bay leaf that emerges with time in the glass.
