While many of Sicily’s winemakers find refuge on the Etna’s volcanic slopes in the north-east, Alessandro Viola – one of the island’s most accomplished natural winemakers – tends 5ha in the north-west, just inland from Castellammare. ‘Note di Bianco’ is Alessandro's crowd-pleasing flagship wine: fruit-forward and textural, refreshingly crisp, with a gentle bitter finish and low in alcohol.
