The Seysses family are relative newcomers in the scheme of Burgundy’s long history, but Domaine Dujac has reached world-class status quicker than ever could be imagined.

In 1967, Jacques Seysses – the son of a wealthy biscuit manufacturer – purchased Domaine Graillet in Morey-Saint-Denis and gradually grew the vineyard holdings to include an array of well-positioned sites in Echézeaux, Bonnes Mares, and Clos de la Roche. An unfathomable task now, even with deep pockets.

Today, Jacques’ sons Alec and Jeremy tend vines across 15.5ha (all biodynamically farmed since 2009) with Jeremy’s wife Diana taking charge in the cellar. While the domaine has dialled back its use of stems and new oak in recent years, Dujac’s style has always been one of elegance and poise, its wines seducing drinkers with soaring perfumes and silken viscosity.

"A lovely bouquet, beautifully defined with pure dark cherries, raspberry with touches of clove and white pepper. Quite structured for a Charmes-Chambertin, lightly-spiced with a cohesive and quite persistent finish." 94-96 Points, Vinous
