Pierre Baillette Champagne Trois-Puits 1er Cru Brut 'Le Village'
Périne Baillette has taken over her family’s Champagne house in Trois-Puits, 7km south of Reims, and made it into a superb source of tightly-knit, intensely mineral wines. Her signature ‘Le Village’ cuvée is from 3.5ha of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and 65-year-old Pinot Meunier vines in the Trois-Puits 1er Cru. Aged in chalk caves beneath the winery and bottled with very low dosage, it’s an elegant grower Champagne with great salinity and grip.

Vocoret Chablis 'Bas de Chapelot' 2022
Eleni & Edouard Vocoret’s domaine is one of the foremost of Chablis’ exciting new generation. Following in the footsteps of local legends Dauvissat and Raveneau, the Vocorets practice regenerative farming, wild yeast fermentations and ageing in old oak barrels. Most producers in the region blend their village-level plots together, but the Vocorets’ are separated into single-parcel Chardonnays that express a real sense of place. Le Bas de Chapelot  – from vines beneath the lauded 1er Cru 'Montée de Tonnerre' – is outstanding, with concentrated citrus fruit and a detailed, mineral finish.

Belargus Anjou 'Ronceray' 2022
Chenin Blanc specialist and cult producer Ivan Massonnat makes extraordinary, terroir-focused wines from some of the Loire’ Valley’s most renowned vineyards. His range of Belargus wines come from meticulously farmed organic and biodynamic sites in Anjou, Savennières and Quarts-de-Chaume, and vary in style from powerful and bone dry to intensely sweet - but always with Chenin Blanc’s trademark energy. ‘Ronceray’ is a multi-dimensional, energising dry Chenin from a blend of plots in Quarts-de-Chaume.

Val delle Corti Chianti Classico Riserva 2021
The Radda sub-zone of Chianti Classico is a hotbed of organic farming and enlightened, traditional winemaking. Here Roberto Bianchi of Val delle Corti crafts Sangiovese in its purest, most elegant form. The Riserva comes from the estate’s best vineyard, planted in 1974. It is fermented with wild yeasts and aged for two years in old oak, yielding a Chianti with crystal clear strawberry and cherry flavours, fine, powdery tannins and a streak of freshness.

Bachelet-Monnot Maranges ler Cru 'Le Clos Roussots' 2023
We’ve always admired the wines of Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, but one visit to the brothers’ cellar changed admiration into awe. From the humble village wines to the Grand Crus, every wine we tasted punched above its weight. Grandsons of Burgundy legend Bernard Bachelet, Marc and Alexandre farm 22 hectares across some of the finest sites in the Côte de Beaune, as well as lesser-known villages, treating every parcel with the same care. This 1er Cru Maranges is a beautifully crafted red with silky tannins and luminous, pure fruit.

Dalamara Naoussa Xinomavro 'Paliokalias' 2021
If Greece had Burgundy’s system, Dalamara’s Paliokalias vineyard would be a Grand Cru. A plot of old (including some pre-phylloxera) Xinomavro vines encompassing seven different terroirs, the wine it makes is a benchmark for Greece’s best red variety. In 2021 Kostis Dalamara produced one of the finest vintages yet. A full-bodied yet elegant red combining the aromatics of Pinot Noir with the structure of Barolo, it’s already delicious, but has a long future.
