Tawse

When the tiny Gevrey-Chambertin estate of Domaine Maume was up for sale in 2012, it seemed a question of which of the big négociants would gobble it up. Then, in a twist to warm the hearts of all true Burgundy fans, two Canadians, Pascal Marchand and Moray Tawse, stepped in. Together with English winemaker Mark Fincham, they set about converting farming to biodynamic and raising quality across the board. The welcome result is quality wines with real character that are still under-the-radar.
