Pierre Ramonet arrived in Burgundy in the 1920s. Over sixty or so vintages he built a reputation as one of the great old-school winemakers, turning his domaine into Chassagne's most celebrated address. Pierre’s grandson Jean-Claude runs things today, now alongside his daughters Anne-France and Clarisse.
Thanks to meticulous farming, enviable holdings in many of Burgundy's most illustrious sites, and world-class traditional winemaking, the stellar reputation of Ramonet’s wines continues to grow. The concentrated yet elegant Chardonnays, made with relatively little new oak, rightly receive most of the attention, but the reds are also exceptional - some of the finest Pinot Noirs in the Côte de Beaune.
