Clos Confidential – Tasting the Mythical Clos Joliette

Long whispered about by sommeliers and collectors, Clos Joliette is a wine of legend. Grown in a tiny clos and made in extremely limited production using old school techniques, its mystique is as enduring as the ageworthiness of its wines. Following the death of former owner Michel Renaud in 2015, a treasure trove of back vintages was discovered in the estate’s cellar – many untouched for decades. Now under the care of top Jurançon winemaker Lionel Osmin, these extraordinary bottles are being released in wax-sealed mixed cases, coded by sweetness. For this rare tasting, Ryan Mostert, Senior Sommelier at Noble Rot, will lead us through a case spanning vintages back to the mid-1990s. These incredible wines are unlike anything else you’ll taste.
