Prior to taking over from his father in 1994, Jean-Marie Fourrier interned for the legendary Vosne-Romanée vigneron Henri Jayer and then with Véronique Drouhin in Oregon. On returning to the family domaine, Jean-Marie put considerable efforts into renovating the cellars and introducing lower yields and elements of biodynamic farming to his exceptional old-vine holdings in and around Gevrey.
In addition to the 1er and Grand Cru domaine bottlings for which he has become famed, Jean-Marie collaborates with a handful of growers for his eponymous micro-négociant cuvées. By working only with vineyards local to the domaine, Jean-Marie oversees all aspects of farming and harvesting to achieve top-quality fruit grown to his exacting standards.
