Nicola Tapon, the 16th generation of her winemaking family in Saint-Émilion, is crafting some of the most unique and age-defying wines on the Right Bank. Working with 22ha of organic vines (some of which date back to 1933), Nicole is best known for her Clairet de Bordeaux – a rare style of deeply coloured, ageworthy rosé. Her 2002 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru – a frequently overlooked, subtle, and satisfying vintage – offers an enticing, shape-shifting fragrance of dusty plums, old leather, and vanilla, alongside soft, sweet tannins. Meditative, thought-provoking Claret.
