Jessica Litaud (2022)
A brilliant young talent crafting crystalline white Burgundies out of supposedly ‘humble’ Mâconnais terroirs, Jessica Litaud is establishing her domaine as world class with each new release.
After working with Jean-Marie Guffens and spending two vintages with Jean-François Ganevat in the Jura, Jessica returned in 2019 to take over her family’s 5.5ha of biodynamically farmed vines, including some of Pouilly-Fuissé's long-awaited 1er Cru vineyards: ‘La Marechaude’, ‘Sur La Roche’, and ‘Les Crays’.
Jessica times the harvest to ensure freshness and vibrancy, with the grapes undergoing a gentle pressing and extended elevage on lees in old 228-litre barrels. Litaud’s wines are characterised by their purity and fruit concentration, balanced by gentle oak and mineral nuances.
2022 has been hailed as a modern classic and was a real success for Jessica, yielding wines that embody the tension and clarity that have become her trademark. Gorgeous to drink now, they will reveal further layers of complexity over the next decade in bottle.
Fast becoming one of our most-requested allocations throughout the year, we are delighted to offer Jessica’s exceptional 2022s direct from the domaine’s cellars.
