“Litaud’s wines have a touch of class. They make you think: ‘I’d like to drink that tonight’” – Neal Martin, Vinous
A burgeoning young talent in the Mâconnais, Jessica Litaud is turning heads with brilliantly crafted white Burgundies.
Hailing from a long line of Burgundian vignerons, Jessica began her career under the mentorship of superstar Jura winemaker Jean-François Ganevat. Inspired by Ganevat’s experimental winemaking methods and delicious, otherworldly wines, she returned to Burgundy and took over a portion of her family’s estate in 2019.
Jessica farms 5ha of old vines in some of the Mâconnais’ most exceptional lieu dits, including a parcel of newly classified 1er Cru vineyards in Pouilly-Fuissé. From her cellar in Vergisson, she produces thrilling, biodynamic Chardonnays in tiny quantities.
Undergoing slow pressing and extended elevage in barrel, Jessica’s wines are characterised by their purity and fruit concentration, balanced by gentle oak and mineral nuances. Thrilling even when young, they have that rare combination of immediacy and considerable ageing potential.
Among the region’s most exciting new additions, Domaine Litaud has quickly attracted attention from Burgundy lovers with an ear to the ground. These wines from 2019 – one of the most exciting white Burgundy vintages of the last decade – are all the more remarkable considering this is Jessica’s maiden vintage. Don't miss this opportunity to taste the wines of a future star.
