Titerok-Akaet 'Valle del Malpaso' 2020

Reviving centenary-old vineyards abandoned by their owners waiting for land prices to rise, oenology PhD students Marta Labanda and Juan Daniel Ramierez are emerging as two of Lanzarote’s most exciting young vignerons.
Tapping their family connections, Marta and Juan rent two plots in the north of the island, farming Listán Blanco, Listán Negro, Diego, and Malvasía. Vines grow in hollows of black volcanic ash, around which low stone walls are erected as protection from the hot Atlantic winds.
Marta and Juan’s Titerok-Akaet wines evoke the sublime whites of Envínate and Suertes del Marqués on Tenerife – salty, smoky-fresh, textural, and racy – and are the benchmark for terroir-driven winemaking on Lanzarote.
Reductive, with jasmine, white blossom, salty minerals – tangy and intense. 641 bottles produced.
