Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 'Les Ancégnières' 2016

Creating a domaine from the combined holdings of two historic winemaking families, Pierre-Yves farms an exceptional array of vineyards across Saint-Aubin, Chassagne, and Puligny, and sources fruit from trusted growers in Corton-Charlemagne and Bâtard-Montrachet. With tell-tale smoky reduction, laser-sharp precision, and sensuous textures, these are some of Burgundy’s most distinctive and most adored wines.
An extreme growing season, says Pierre-Yves of 2016 – just one barrel, rather than the usual seven was made of 'Les Ancégnières' – nevertheless, quality was high. Dense, but opening with air: lemon drop, yellow peach, hazelnut, and then PYCM's quintessential gun smoke wafting over the top. Fleshy and round, with a long, mineral (faintly saline) finish.
