Muchada-Léclapart Lumière 2019

Muchada-Léclapart is a collaboration between Alejandro Muchada (a winemaker in Cadiz) and David Léclapart (a pioneering Champagne producer). Although their Palomino vines are located in the Marco de Jerez - the sherry heartlands - they make minimal intervention wines without the use of fortification or ageing under flor. Lumière is sourced from 60-year-old vines, the fruit of which is fermented and aged for 9-10 months in used Bordeaux barrels. Sumptuous and concentrated, but zinging with lemon juice and pith, a wave of more complex, smoky notes unfurl with time in the glass.
