Lucien Aviet 'Cuvée des Docteurs' Blanc 2019

 Out of the cellars of Trousseau specialist Lucien Aviet (friend and contemporary of master vigneron Pierre Overnoy) come some of the region's purest, most hedonistically perfumed reds. There's much debate among Jura winemakers whether Melon à Queue Rouge ("red-tailed Melon") is a separate variety or just another name for Chardonnay. Whether you care or not, Lucien Aviet's Cuvée des Docteurs (named after the medical students who used to help with the harvest) is like a mountain-fresh white Burgundy: all nutty citrus, but with a salty backbone.
