Jules Desjourneys Chenas 'Le Jugement Dernier' 2014
Regular price £51.00Domaine Jules Desjourneys – a.k.a owner/vigneron Fabien Duperray – has had a meteoric rise over the last few years. A Burgundian who started out as an agent for some of the region’s most famous names – Coche-Dury, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Arnaud Ente – before moving operations to an old train station in La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, Fabien began life as a winemaker at the end of the 2000s, and is perfectly connected to develop his craft.
For Burg-lovers searching for superlative quality and affordability Desjourneys wines are hard to beat, although tiny production volumes make them increasingly scarce. Balancing crystalline purity with natural generosity, this is fruit-rich and spicy, and has almost unparalleled concentration and the fine tannin structure of a wine built for ageing.
