Jean-François Ganevat – the Jura’s mad professor – is a superstar who, alongside retired master vignerons Pierre Overnoy and Jacques Puffeney, has most drawn attention to this obscure constellation in the past few decades.
An influential proponent of biodynamic farming and low/zero-sulphur additions, Ganevat ferments all five of the Jura’s permitted grape varieties to craft a roster of experimental cuvées and more conventionally made, Burgundian-style wines.
Gamay from Beaujolais and Pinot Noir from the Jura come together in this cuvée full of bright red fruit and earth tones. Coooooool and vibrant.
