Need some sunshine back in your life? Then you need Rémi Dufaitre.
Rémi (a cousin of Fleurie’s Jean-Louis Dutraive) and his ex-wife Laurence have worked the slopes around Saint-Etienne des Ouillières on the border of Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly since 2006. Formerly supplying the local co-operative, the pair began to make their own wines in 2010.
One of the domaine's first bottles found its way into Bojo royalty Jean Foillard’s hands, who got in touch with Rémi and took him under his wing – a blessing that quickly attracted the attention of the Paris natural wine scene.
A blend of Beaujolais Villages parcels. A short maceration results in a pure and succulent Gamay, full of bright red fruit and florals. Rémi's own 'house wine' of sorts, he chills this down and serves it with charcuterie. As do we. Zero sulphur.
