“The wild man of Pouilly”, “the Pope of Sauvignon”, an iconoclast, a maverick, a magician – the late Loire legend Didier Dagueneau established ‘Les Jardins de Babylone,’ a 7ha vineyard at the foot of the Pyrenees, because of his passion for sweet Jurançon. Now, Didier’s son Louis-Benjamin continues to champion his father’s pioneering techniques and obsession with using low yields of hand-harvested, fully ripe fruit to produce ageworthy wines. Imagine the most perfectly ripe exotic fruit drizzled with acacia honey and squeeze of racy citrus acidity.
