David Duband Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 'Cuvée Louis Auguste' 2019

A chance meeting between French motor-home mogul François Feuillet and David’s father led to the then 19-year-old being installed as winemaker for both families’ vines, a relationship that continues to this day. Duband makes beautifully refined Pinot Noir with complex perfumed – a result of a stylistic change to whole bunch fermentation in 2008 and barrel-ageing for 14-16 months. His reputation is growing with every passing vintage and it is no surprise that he is held in high esteem by many of the region’s top growers and commentators.

Named after David’s son, ‘Louis Auguste’ bursts with sweet, dark berries. Lifted and silky, but with an edge of spicy wildness that brings it well above its Hautes-Côtes De Nuits appellation, it is built for both the dining table and the cellar.
