Living in the Middle East and Europe as a foreign news correspondent, Doug Tunnel fell in love with wine. Returning to the States, he established Brick House in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, first planting Pinot Noir in 1990, followed by Chardonnay and Gamay two years later.

A self-taught winemaker and a pioneer of organic and biodynamic in Oregon, Doug crafts Old World-inspired wines made with whole clusters, native yeasts, and zero fining or filtration.

Powerful, in the typical 2014 build, but without being overblown, Evelyn’s Pinot Noir is perfumed with dark berry liqueur, exotic spices, and smoky minerals. These attractive aromatics resonate on the palate through to the long, spicy finish. 94 points, Vinous.
