Bernard Gripa Saint-Peray Cuvée 'Les Pins' 2019

Unusually for a northern Rhone producer, the majority of Domaine Gripa's vineyards produce Marsanne and Roussanne, so white wines are something of a speciality for the estate. 'Les Pins' - from 40-year-old vines - shows just how elegant Saint-Peray can be in the right hands. Peachy and rounded, with a waxy dimension to the fruit - but always refreshing - Gripa's wines develop a deliciously savoury, herbal note with five years or so in bottle.
