Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre Margaux 2000Regular price £76.00
Owner and winemaker Jean-Pierre Boyer remembers the legendary 1947 vintage and has been doing things much the same way since, just as his father did. Move over glossy, boozy, modern Bordeaux: this is old-school claret. There's no oak here - just concrete vats and extended ageing in bottle, which are released only when ready to drink. 2000 was a stand-out year for Jean-Pierre and this is a fragrant, tertiary and utterly beguiling look into the Margaux of old.
