André Perret Saint-Joseph Blanc 2020

As well as restoring some of Condrieu's finest vineyards in the 1980s, André Perret has breathed new life into nearby, if less esteemed appellations, such as Saint-Joseph that can provide good value to the Rhône drinker. Made up of equal parts Marsanne and Roussanne, there is a heady perfume of honeyed tropical fruit here and ample weight to go with it. The oily texture is offset by smoke and bitter herbs, which cries out for autumnal vegetables or creamy sauces.
