Ganevat Chardonnay 'Les Chalasses' Vieilles Vignes 2018

Jean-François Ganevat – the Jura’s mad professor – is a superstar who, alongside retired master vignerons Pierre Overnoy and Jacques Puffeney, has most drawn attention to this obscure constellation in the past few decades.
An influential proponent of biodynamic farming and low/zero-sulphur additions, Ganevat ferments all five of the Jura’s permitted grape varieties to craft a roster of experimental cuvées and more conventionally made, Burgundian-style wines.
120+-year-old vines and three years in wood results in a richly layered and intense profile: autumnal fruit, smoke, grilled nuts, and straw. Energetic and nervy.
