Beynat Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux 2019

Purchased by the enterprising Alain Tourenne in 2008, Beynat is now one of Bordeaux's few certified biodynamic properties. Sourced from 25-year-old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines on Castillon's limestone-clay hillsides, the wine undergoes natural yeast fermentation and sees minimal sulphur additions (if any) before being aged in cement vats for 15 months. Densely red-fruited, with roasted coffee and spice accents, it has some pleasing saline complexity on the finish. Unbeatable value.
