Next Generation Burgundy CaseRegular price £300.00
Our first love will always be Burgundy; nothing quite compares to its great Grand Crus or humble, good-value outliers - these are some of our current favourite producers from the region.
Thomas Pico launched Domaine Pattes Loup in 2004 after working with Chablis luminaries Alice and Olivier de Moor; from old vines around Courgis, Vent d'Ange is a wine of finely-judged tension, texture, and balance. Guillot-Broux leads the way in the Mâconnais for natural winemaking; fleshy and concentrated, 'Les Genevrières' shares more in common with the wines of the Côte de Beaune than its southerly neighbours. Jacqueline Collardot and her son Matthieu are making some of Burgundy’s most exciting, under-the-radar artisanal whites from their 2.5ha Thomas-Collardot estate in Puligny - Au Paupillot is satiny and mineral-driven.
Dureuil-Janthial has quickly entered the top echelon in Rully and its 2018 Rouge is a serious, sleek, and ample red that pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved in this 'humble' appellation. David Duband’s stellar Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 'Les Broc' combines sumptuous, vivid fruit with just the right amount of tertiary savouriness. Douhairet-Porcheret's vineyards around Monthélie are a little higher up the slope, offering the fresh acidity felt in the impressive, high-toned and silky Clos du Meix Garnier.
