Formed out of the union of two historic Mosel families, Selbach-Oster was founded in its current guise in the early 1960s. Today, the estate is run by Johannes and Barbara Selbach, who farm 24h of vines across Zeltingen (Himmelreich, Sonnenuhr and Schlossberg) and Graach (Himmelreich and Domprobst).
Fermented naturally and achingly slowly in old oak foudres and stainless steel, Selbach-Oster produces an assortment of dazzlingly complex Rieslings across the Prädikat spectrum. Adored by sommeliers (and not just the adventurous and grey-haired type), these are among the most affordable fine wines (with age to boot!) on the planet.
A gently sweet and ripe Auslese Feinherb, its petrol-tinged fruit buttressed by a firm spine of acidity. The perfect bridge between power and elegance.
